I am a fourth year PhD researcher with a visual impairment and a guide dog user at the University of Glasgow. My research focuses on disability representation in the Jordanian media. My previous degrees are in Media Communications (Regent’s University London (RUL)) and Broadcast Journalism from (American University (AU)). Prior to my PhD, I have worked as a Senior Communications Officer for Action Against Hunger in Jordan. I have also interned at the Library of Congress as part of their Public Relations team during my master’s degree, interned with The PIE News, and was a communications fellow for RespectAbility, a non-profit organization in the DMV area which focuses on disability in Hollywood. When not stuck behind a laptop screen working on my research, I can be found exploring the beautiful gems Scotland has to offer with my trusty guide dog Mitch, training for my next Kiltwalk (charity walk), or discovering new coffee spots around Glasgow.
